Swimstar takes its inspiration from The Commonwealth Games, after watching the divers and swimmers compete on TV and the joie de vivre that these young athletes display. The figure dives into a pool of stars, with two stars resting on the base of the pool, with stars floating on the top of the water.
The figure is attached by his feet to the side of the pool edge as he dives in and the whole piece is balance by the pool steps. As the poutside edge of the pool and the stars and steps are made by hand with each new edition, some variances occur, making each piece completely unique.
The base is of dark blue composite granite which has beautiful sparkles in it.
